Jess Mills has been a member of Queer Melbourne Stitch n Bitch since its inception in 2009, and coordinated the group meet-ups for 9 years. She loves hand sewing, but taught herself to machine sew for her iso project, borrowing a friends sewing machine. Jess believes if we need to wear masks, they may as well be fun, and all masks are made from upcycled fabrics.
They are 2 layer masks with a nose bridge and a pocket to place an additional filter if desired.
Additional masks made have been been donated to Bk 2 Basics, a charity providing food and basics to people in the SE suburbs of Melbourne.
Queer Melbourne Stitch n Bitch has been running online since lockdown began, and will return IRL to their home Hares & Hyenas soon.
